Dr. Farhan Asim is an architect and researcher at the Built Environment Laboratory, IIT Roorkee, specializing in Neuro-Architecture and Environmental Psychology. His doctoral research developed a neuroscience-backed framework for designing mentally restorative academic campuses, using mobile EEG, AI-driven VR simulations, and validated psychological scales to study how built spaces affect stress, cognition, and well-being. He has published in top-tier SCI-Q1 journals, including Building and Environment (Elsevier), and serves as a peer reviewer for ten international journals. Funded by India's Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and the Ministry of Education, his work sits at the intersection of architecture, neuroscience, and data-driven design. As a mentor, Dr. Asim brings hands-on expertise in interdisciplinary research methods spanning EEG neuroimaging, VR-based experimentation, spatial analysis (ArcGIS), and statistical modeling, along with experience as a Teaching Assistant across B.Arch and M.Arch programs at IIT Roorkee.
